Project overview:
The Cunningham Highway is part of the federally funded National Network providing a crucial east-west connection between Ipswich and Warwick for industry, tourism, and the community. TMR commenced urgent safety works in November 2010 to manage the risk of major rock falls at Cunningham’s Gap. Between December 2010 and early March 2011, the Gap saw more than two metres of rain. Cunningham’s Gap sustained an enormous amount of damage at a number of locations from the wet weather events.
The CA Team undertook contract administration services on discrete projects under the NDRRA program – including Clayton’s Gully realignment, restoration work at National Trail & Six Penny Gully, asphalt overlay works and emergency works.
Role on project:
The Driftwood Consulting team members were subcontracted to Aurecon who was appointed as the Superintendent. The CA Team was responsible for the management of the project through the construction phase with a focus on quality, traffic, safety, environmental, and community management. Challenging contractual conditions had to be managed by the team to ensure the project was completed within the time and cost constraints of the NDRRA program.
