Project overview:
The project consisted of four separate TIC-CO Contracts for the delivery of approximately 40 major discrete sites which are termed ‘major’ as they incorporate civil engineering technical design solutions such as soil nails, drilled anchors, shotcrete and retaining structures. In addition, there are approximately 200 minor sites which are small and discrete in nature and geographically dispersed that and include batter scaling, hydro mulching, drainage realignment, culvert structures and minor pavement repairs.
Role on project:
The Driftwood Consulting team members were subcontracted to Aurecon who was appointed as the Contract Administrator. The CA Team managed all four Contracts which were being run concurrently with three different Contractor’s and three different Designers. The team of 10 engineers, inspectors and specialists were required to deliver a very challenging project due to the geotechnical challenges, geographical diversity, varied construction methodologies, limited design and significant budget risks. The project is highly sensitive to the local communities, so traffic management and communications is a strong focus of the team.
