Project overview:
This project included the design, tender, and construction phase consultancy services for International Terminal Apron Bays 69, 70, and 71, including all necessary design, bulk earthworks, ground improvements, pavements, demolition and realignment of existing infrastructure and access roads, drainage, services, lighting, fences, security, and landscaping. The Project also includes the master planning for grading and services capacity assessment for the International Terminal Apron Precinct (Bays 65 – 71).
The expansion included new aircraft parking bays and taxiways, an expanded terminal concourse with new boarding zones, walk out gates, aerobridges and a new Ground Services Equipment (GSE) area, all consistent with long term master planning. The work is a direct result of significant growth in international fights and is required to meet the forecast increase in demand.
Role on project:
The Driftwood Consulting team members were subcontracted to Aurecon who was appointed as the designer for the project. The Team undertook Construction Phase Services through provision of supervision during the construction phase, release project hold points, providing advice to the Client on RFIs and NCRs and ultimately provide RPEQ sign-off that the project has been built to the Aurecon design and project specifications.
