Project overview:
The project involved an extension to the existing Surf Club to include a new two storey outdoor dining area and function space (members training area) on the northeastern side of the existing building. The development is the largest renovations undertaken in the history of the Club and replaced the existing beer garden roof structure, which was at end of life, with a new two storey building with indoor/outdoor dining and beer garden on the ground floor and a large enclosed deck area with bar on the first floor.
Role on project:
The Driftwood Consulting team was appointed as the Project Manager for the project and also acted as the Superintendent for the construction contract. The Team was responsible for the management of the project from design through to construction and handover where they managed the design process and budgeting to deliver a project that met the needs of the Surf Club. The Team also managed the tender process and the construction works themselves, acting as the Superintendent under the AS4000 Contract Conditions.
